In-Line flame arresters are normally fitted within 50 x pipe diameter
of the possible source of ignition (dependant upon gas application)
which allows the arrester to quench the flame at sub-sonic flame
speed.
Suitable

flame arresters are certified compliant with European ATEX and PED
directives where applicable.

and Process Protection
MTP
end-of-line flame arresters are designed to prevent an unconfined
deflagration in the surrounding atmosphere from entering the pipe
or system.
They
are not suitable for preventing a flame from within the pipe or
system igniting the surrounding area (see MTP Deflagration Flame
Arresters above).

for pipe sizes up to 30” (750mm).

Additional
Protection for End-of-Line Applications
MTP
Flame Arrester and Vent Combinations work in exactly the same way
as an end-of-line unit. They are designed to prevent an unconfined
deflagration in the surrounding atmosphere from entering the pipe
or system.
They
are not suitable for preventing a flame from within the pipe or
system igniting the surrounding area (see MTP Deflagration Flame
Arresters above).
The
combination provides additional protection because the the flame
arrester element of the system is only actively required during
the short periods when the breather valve element of the system
is venting.
Suitable for pipe sizes up to 12” (300mm).

flame arresters and breather valves are certified compliant with
European ATEX and PED directives where applicable.
